Biblical Greek?

I am interested in learning Clical Greek. I would like to be able to read authors such as Plato in the original language. If I took a year of Biblical Greek at a theological seminary, would I be prepared? Would there be any drawbacks to learning Greek this way? Help is greatly appreciated!
