Do You Think This Baby Name Sound Too Ethnic?

I have a daughter name Lauryn and prego with another. We plan on naming her Laryssa. My MIL (a black woman)says it sounds "too ethnic". She suggested Lori or Lisa and I was like no I like Laryssa. I asked her what makes it too ethnic and whats wrong with it sounding ethnic. She said just by her name alone she would be easily identified as a black person with a name like Laryssa. My husband (Larry) was upset when she said that. I sort of brushed it off as ignorance. Im almost and she is still persistent on us changing the name. The other day she said that she knows we already picked name but that she suggested a nother name. She is really getting on my nerves with this.What do you think?
